Progress of the European project Tourism 4.0

The European project Tourism 4.0, in which Malaga TechPark participates, has been in the implementation phase for a little over a year, and several results have been achieved so far. One of them has been a call for support launched in December 2022 for tourism SMEs to take advantage of emerging digital technologies to improve their productivity, sustainability, and business performance. More than 159 applications were received from Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Spain, and Malta, and 60 companies were selected.

The offer includes a nine-month training programme that will allow selected companies to increase their skills and competences in the field of digital transformation, and financial support through a voucher valued at up to €7,000.

This programme is currently underway and includes mentoring and assistance in digital technologies led by technology and business experts to build skills, know-how and technology transfer opportunities.

On the project website, the contents designed so far are available. A wide range of webinars, pills of knowledge, infographics, and resources are available to support tourism businesses in their digital transformation process and achieve more profitability and sustainability.
