Project information

The objective of the “Science and Technology for Women” program is to promote scientific and technological vocations, with the aim of increasing the choice of studies and professions in these fields among young women in the future.

To achieve our goals, APTE has the collaboration of science and technology parks members of the association, spread throughout the Spanish geography, which participate in the work plan to be developed, giving the action a nationwide coverage and impact.

The program is aimed at students from 1st to 4th ESO and consists of a series of days held in the participating science and technology parks where students can visit exhibitions, participate in science and technology workshops and a national competition, and receive two illustrated guides on studies and career opportunities for all girls interested in studying science and technology careers.

8% of the students who have participated in the 7 editions of Science and Technology for Women change their minds and decide to go for STEAM.

Science and Technology in women is the protagonist of a paper published in the Journal of Gender Studies.

As part of the Science and Technology for Women project, we have decided to create a small illustrated guide so that you can see some examples of the career opportunities available to you if you decide to study science and technology. But remember that the most important thing is not what exists, but what you can discover for yourself!

What are disruptive technologies?

This new guide has been prepared in collaboration with the Spanish Technological Platform for Disruptive Technologies (DISRUPTIVE). Spanish Technological Platform for Disruptive Technologies (DISRUPTIVE). The platform is a secretariat of APTE and supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the State Research Agency, and promotes the digital transformation of Spanish entities, covering the field of the most disruptive digital technologies. That is why this document aims to make visible the 5 technologies on which the platform focuses, as well as to provide some examples of possible career opportunities related to these areas.

We want to show you how great you can be thanks to science and technology. And what better way than watching live the greatest success stories of women who have achieved great goals for humanity using science and technology. Don’t miss it and of course go all the way to the end because… Who knows if you will be the next great scientist or technologist in history? Partnership with Inspiring Girls

The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) and its initiative ‘Science and Technology in Women’ will collaborate with the foundation Inspiring Girls to launch a mentoring program that will involve professional women from the environment of science and technology parks participating in ‘Science and Technology in Women’.

Adhesion to the Manifesto for the Promotion of Female Talent in Science and Technology

Thirteen initiatives that promote female STEM talent have signed a manifesto developed collaboratively during an online event organized by the Spanish Technology Platform for Disruptive Technologies (DISRUPTIVE), held on February 11 on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The manifesto reflects the need to join efforts to achieve an effective positioning of women in the scientific and technological field.
